Introduction
There are some dinners that feel less like a meal and more like a beautifully orchestrated experience. My recent evening at Josette was exactly that—an immersion into French elegance, thoughtful hospitality, and a reminder of why curated dining is such a powerful expression of culture and connection.
First Impressions & Ambiance
From the moment I stepped into the dining room, I felt transported. Josette’s space is a study in refinement: warm lighting casting a soft glow across the room, delicately patterned fabrics, and dishware adorned with the signature Josette logo—each detail quietly reinforcing the restaurant’s identity. The ambiance carried that unmistakable French charm: chic but never pretentious, polished yet inviting.
Live Music & Atmosphere
What truly elevated the night was the live three-piece band, performing with a level of pitch-perfect artistry rarely encountered in restaurants today. They moved seamlessly from “You Belong to Me” by Lenny Kravitz to “Purple Rain”—a rendition so soulful it pulled the entire room into the moment. It’s rare to find live music that complements rather than competes with a dining experience, but here, it felt like part of the choreography.
The Dining Experience
Drinks
Our dinner began with an array of sweet-but-strong mocktails, each one balanced and beautifully presented. Then came a progression of dishes that showcased both technique and simplicity:
Starters & Small Plates
Silky wagyu carpaccio
Delicate mushroom carpaccio
Crisp French onion toasties
Fresh, vibrant salad
Main Dishes
Mussels cooked tableside, filling the air with the aroma of broth and butter
Perfectly grilled prawns
Tender broccolini with just the right char
Desserts & Ending Notes
And then—dessert. A chocolate soufflé so airy it seemed to float, paired with coffee ice cream that grounded it with depth and warmth. We ended with a selection of teas—green tea, hibiscus with red fruits, and a beautifully made latte. A simple lineup on paper, but executed with intention and grace.
Reflections on Hospitality
As a founder, I can't help but evaluate every dining experience through the lens of hospitality—how the guests feel, how the details come together, how the story carries through from the first taste to the last. My guests were genuinely impressed, not just by the food but by the harmony of service, setting, and experience.
Added Perks
And, of course, a highlight worth mentioning: because we booked through Supperclub, the bill came with an automatic 15% discount—an effortless saving that made the evening even sweeter.
Final Thoughts
Josette isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a reminder of why curated dining matters. It brings people together, elevates ordinary moments into memories, and celebrates the joy of being fully present at the table.
Conclusion
A perfect night, from start to finish.
